Birmingham City Council have now released information on how to claim grants available to small businesses.
As part of the Government’s COVID-19 support package, grants totalling more than £231 million will be paid out to eligible businesses in Birmingham in coming weeks.
For those businesses who automatically qualify for grants, payments will be made in phases depending upon existing data held by the council to verify eligibility, Businesses encouraged to speed up the process by supplying bank, business and correspondence details through the form below.
Small business in Birmingham are eligible for the following 3 grants:
- £10,000 for businesses in receipt of Small Business Rates Relief (SBR) or Rural Rate Relief (RRF)
- £10,000 for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses who have a rateable value of £15,000 or less
- £25,000 for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses who have a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
Any business with a rateable value of more then £51,000 will not be eligible for the grant. Please refer to your previous bill to find your rateable value. Alternatively you can visit the Valuation Office Agency website for further information.
